A Rainbow...

I was so excited to participate in my very first swap recently!! Miss Jennifer over at http://ellisonlane.blogspot.com/ hosted the second Rainbow Charm Swap (I barely missed the cut on the first one). But that was ok, because there were double the people in the second and I wound up with 112 charms- woot! woot!! I waited patiently for my charms to arrive. I had been assigned purple- I went with one of the new Lizzie House prints and a classic print too. Cutting the yards into charms was good until my ruler slipped (I *need* a non-slip 6x24 ruler!!) and I messed up the last 4 charms. So off to the computer I went to order more fabric. I had a good excuse to order a few other things, to help with shipping of course :) hehe!!

These came in the mail Monday- squeal!! I am so debating what to make with them. Trying to decide if I want to follow a pattern or just go with my own thing. Hmmmm.... Either way, I know it will be lovely! How could it not be with such a marvelous rainbow??!! So looking forward to more swaps!

Oh my SkyeReve Fabrics!!

I have done a lot of online and brick and mortar shopping lately- trying to get the last couple prints for the FWQAL and backs for current quilts :). One shop that has blown me away with the selection, service, and just plain nice-ness is SkyeReve Fabrics (http://skyerevefabrics.com/)!! I met Natasha when purchasing fabric for the Rainbow Charm Swap 2- I needed some purple and she had just what I was looking for :).

Unfortunately, I oops'ed in cutting my last charm square line and needed another quarter yard. Don't ya just hate it when that happens??

Actually, it turned out to be a VERY good thing beacuse sweet Natasha got me an additional quarter yard of the fabric I needed and was so obliging to also send me a **few** of the other prints I have been dreaming of :). All in the name of an anniversary present to myself- hehe! And she even had a coupon for my first purchase!

It arrived today and I have not stopped squealing yet! Sarah Jane, Hoo's in the Forest, Sugar Flower 2011, butterflies, dots, berries, airplanes, and so much more loveliness! I am just beside myself!! I have a new best fabric friend :) Behold the yumminess:

Late night Sewing...

The past few days I have wanted to get some sewing done so bad that I have stayed up in the wee hours of night to get some blocks and cutting done :).

I got 3 more Supernova blocks done and then cut my charm squares for the Ellison Lane Charm Square Swap2!! I was home free and my ruler slipped on my last fabric- I really grumble when that happens. So the kind, sweet, wonderful Natasha, over at http://skyerevefabrics.com was kind enough to get me a quarter yard. I had to order quite a few other things at the same time, to make shipping efficient, of course :) hehe!! Let me tell you, if you want some lovely fabric with incredible service, Natasha is it! She is just amazing! I can hardly wait to get my package in the mail, and I'll get ya a photo :)!!

I almost have my new sewing half-room arranged- it is so wonderful to have your own "space". So much better than the living and bedroom cramped-ness. Been thrifting some too and found 5 terrific vintage sheets and a Pyrex FRIENDSHIP pattern 1 qt. casserole. It's not in perfect condition, but it is my "dream" print, and the first one I've ever seen, so I had to snag it up :)

That's a quick run down of life here lately- hoping to get some more sewing done in the next few days and I'll have some pictures soon too :)
