WOW! Just so much has been going on that I get bogged down in pressure about writing it all. Yup, I'm that kind :). I stress so bad about writing it all down that I avoid the Blogger Dashboard altogether :) HA! It helps it not build up too bad! But, now, since I'm here, I'll try to recap a few of the crafty things I have been working on lately.
I repaired a dear cousins quilt for her daughters- pink satin. I would have loved one of those growing up. It made me smile to make it usable again!
I have so many unfinished projects around here that this will be the year of finishing :) Love it!
I jumped on the One Little Word bandwagon and am loving it! I am NOT, and I repeat, NOT a scrapbooker in any way, shape or form. But this is something that really hit me, so I hope I can make it look fancy or at least a bit semi-pro! :) hehe! I chose the word "feel" for 2012. Well, actually, it chose me. As in feel joy, feel happiness, feel peace, feel calm, feel God, feel stronger. It's funny because I already "feel" those things, but I want to own them even deeper and understand them even more. I know that we are here to learn and grow, and part of that is for me to "feel" even more than what I already do. So that's why this word wouldn't stop nudging me :). I began my class over at Big Picture classes with Ali Edwards, and she's already amazing! I am excited for this experience- I think it's going to be really neat! Here's the self-portrait from the first page of the album we make from the class this year.
I also finished up my first year of Project 365 for my family- a picture a day, with a small journaling explaining the moment! Like I said, I am a terrible scrapper, but this I can do :). It's so fun to walk by my living room and see the book of memories and photos from 2011 looking at me! I have already gotten my binder for this year- waiting on the innards now :) hehe! If you haven't ever tried it, it's fun and becomes a habit taking a fun photo everyday. Messes and all :).
I got my Christmas gift fabric in the mail- all but one little piece :). I was able to get the whole line of Howell's Woodlands- oh, I could order bolts of it!!, some Domestic Bliss- the aqua flower and a few of the beads, my favorites from Half Moon Modern- chevrons, big dots, scissors, and another random print too. So I am set for a while- just to find the perfect project for them!
Have 2 trees left to take down from Christmas and then my house will be back to "normal"- ha! Life is NOT supposed to be normal- it's definitely not here :) And I love it that way!
Great word! Good luck finishing. Isn't that a quilters dream at the beginning of every year?
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a great christmas gift :)
